Multiple news agencies reported that, during this week, the authorities will be talking mainly about School Bus Safety due to the National School Bus Safety Week.
According to the California Highway Patrol, thousands of children in California go to school and back to their homes daily by school bus. Because safety should be in everybody’s mind, the CHP has decided to combine forces with schools to promote awareness to child and bus safety.
The authorities are emphasizing the campaign “I see the driver – the driver sees me”, which hopes to show drivers everywhere the importance of stopping if the school bus is stopped and its red lights are flashing.
In the year of 2010, at least eight people were killed in accidents involving school buses.
