Multiple ceiling-mounted light fixtures are being recalled over a possible issue with the item’s socket wire insulation.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, 8,000 units of light fixtures manufactured by Dongguan Young Long Electric Co. Ltd. are being recalled because they were manufactured with socket wire insulation that could become degraded and, as a result, could end up being exposed, which could cause electricity to pass to the metal canopy of the fixture. If this occurs while the device is on, it could pose a fire or electric shock hazard to users.
To prevent injuries or property damage, the company decided to issue this recall along the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. Up to this moment, two reports of incidents regarding the recalled fixtures have surfaced, however, no injuries were reported.
