Portable Generators Could Pose Fire Hazards, Products Recalled

Multiple reports indicate that Champion Power Equipment has issued a recall announcement concerning 8.600 units of portable generators over a possibility it could pose a fire hazard to consumers.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the generator’s carburetor could experience a fuel leak, which could turn into a fire if in the presence of an igniting components. The federal agency claims the company has received 11 reports of generators experiencing fuel leaks. Eight of the 11 reports resulted in fires while two of these reports caused property damage.

At this moment, consumers with the recalled generators are being asked to contact the manufacturer to have this issue repaired at once.
