According to several news agencies, a bicyclist was fatally injured in a hit-and-run accident that happened Wednesday.
The reports show that the driver involved in this accident is being sought by the authorities. The California Highway Patrol has issued a statement saying that the bicyclist was hit while traveling on Roble Road at about 3 in the afternoon. The vehicle, which witnesses believe to be a 2003 to 2007 Chevy, continued to drive after the accident. According to one account, the vehicle was a pickup truck. The impact prompted the bicyclist to be launched several yards past the rider that was traveling ahead of him onto the pavement. The bicyclists suffered severe head trauma as a result of the crash.
The California Highway Patrol officers claim that the man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
