Forest River Recreational Vehicles Recalled Over Defective Awning Motor

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has recently indicated that Forest River has indicated that the 2013 and 2014 Forest River models sold as Cardinal, Blue Ridge, Cherokee, Columbus, EVO, Flastaff, Lexington, EVO, Georgetown, Forester, Rockwood, Puma, Salem, Sabre, Sandstorm, Sandpiper, Stealth, Sierra, Wildcat, Sunseeker, Wildwood, XLR and Work and Play are being recalled over an issue with the vehicles’ power awning motor assembly.

This problem has affected multiple recreational vehicles in the recent past, the NHTSA has indicated. More vehicles affected by this recall include a series of Coachmen models such as the Encounter, Concord, Freedom Express and others.

The company has indicated that the affected consumers will be contacted by the company in order to schedule a visit to authorized dealers where Dometic staff will have any affected motors replaced for free.
