Distraction Reportedly Causes Auto Versus Pedestrian Accident

A distraction led to an accident that happened in Lakeland Village, reports show

The California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of the accident after a puppy inside of a Ford Taurus distracted the motorist driving on the northbound lanes of Grand Avenue. According to the official report, the puppy got under the pedals of the vehicle, which caused the driver to focus her attention on the puppy and not on the road. As a result, the driver swerved the vehicle onto the right shoulder where the car hit a pedestrian.

The injuries, authorities reported, were not serious.
