According to multiple news agencies, the California Highway Patrol has stated that an accident that happened on Sunday afternoon resulted in a power shortage to hundreds in Upper Lake.
The reports indicate that an SUV crashed into a power pole around 5 p.m. after being spotted traveling on Elk Mountain Road. The crash caused a power with a transformer on it to split in half due to the impact. According to the authorities, the road was closed after the power was damaged in order to allow for Pacific Gas & Electric to respond to the scene promptly in order to repair the pole. At least 818 Upper Lake customers had their power cut out due to the accident.
