A new app promises to help drivers avoid distracted driving accidents simply by tracking your phone.
According to a series of news reports, Arity, a company that works under the Allstate insurance brand, has launched a software that could help drivers with their insurance and help them avoid crashes at the same time.
The app would use internal mechanisms in the phone o track the item. As a result, the app would log how fast the vehicle drivers and whether the driver is texting while driving. If this is the case and the app collects the data, the insurance company will know you’ve been distracted while driving.
To drivers who are good, don’t speed, and don’t use the phone while behind the wheel, insurance premiums may even be lower as the insurance company will know that the driver is safe.
If saving money is important to the driver, then using the app makes sense. And as such, they are given an incentive that will help them avoid being involved in accidents.
As personal injury attorneys, we like the idea of giving drivers the opportunity to understand just how important driving safely is. Seeing an app try to give the driver enough reasons to never be distracted and to never speed sure makes us happy.
If you, on the other hand, feel that you do not need an app to drive safely, we’re also happy for you and wish more drivers across the Golden State were like you. Still, many innocent drivers are exposed to serious and even deadly accidents because third party drivers aren’t paying attention. If you’re ever a victim of a crash caused by a distracted driver, do not hesitate to contact us directly to have your case evaluated for free.
