A horrific and deadly Los Angeles accident involving a golfer was reported this past week. And the crash is all over the news after one of the Good Samaritans who tried to help happened to be actor Luke Wilson.
The accident happened when a Ferrari driver accelerated and then lost control. As the vehicle swung into oncoming traffic, it crashed into a BMW and then clipped Wilson’s car. The vehicle eventually crashed into a pole. Since the BMW had flipped onto the passenger side and smoke was coming from the car, Wilson feared for the woman’s life.
After managing to free her leg, which had been stuck, she was able to come out. Then Wilson was able to pull her through the back trunk where both he and another driver carried her out of harm’s way.
Meanwhile, the Ferrari’s wheels are still spinning, blowing smoke everywhere.
The golfer sitting in the passenger seat of the Ferrari suffered some swelling and pain but no major injuries. The Ferrari driver died at the scene.
The accident is being investigated by law enforcement but the actor is now being hailed as a hero.
We are terribly saddened that this accident happened, but we’re happy to see Good Samaritans step up to help people stuck in situations such as this.
It’s always good to know that individuals are being responsive. It’s also good to know that people are helping others involved in major accidents. But what we truly hope is that these incidents would not happen any longer. We hope that drivers are better at avoiding these collisions by never speeding, nor drinking and driving.
Other factors that may lead to similar accidents include equipment failure, which is also a major issue and should not be ignored.
